On Plumberry Lane is my brand new fabric collection with Marcus Fabrics. (by the way, they have a lovely Lookbook on their website where you can see swatches and some additional quilt concepts). My goal was to bring together shades of plum, violet and lilac with accents of grey, rose, blush, tan in a mix of small floral bouquets and medallions, plus delicate texture prints and coordinating barely-there Centennial Solids.

and here are some of the darksSo now the next step is to design some quilts using On Plumberry Lane. After importing all the fabric images in my trusty Electric Quilt Design Program, and playing around with various ideas, here is one idea I came up with.
in a Grey/Pink/Rose colorway
and in a Tan/Peach/Lavender colorway.
The pattern, called Lovely Ladies, is from Away From Home: Quilts Inspired by the Lowell Factory Girls, a book my husband Oliver and I co-authored (C & T Publications) Both of these versions look quite different from the book version which was made up in reproduction fabrics. So I settled on making the Grey/Pink/Rose version and traced out all of the applique shapes onto Wash-Away Applique by C & T, and then turned all of the seam allowances using several trusty purple glue sticks. This took a few nights watching TV with Oliver. Here are the majority of the applique shapes ready to go.
Here is one of the blocks glued down and ready for appliquing.
Here is another
and here is most of the quilt laid out on my design wall. Now time to start appliqueing! I will try to keep you posted on my progress and share other projects made using On Plumberry Lane.
